Pursuant to Local Bankruptcy Rule 9029-1 the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Columbia is pleased to announce the amendment to Local Bankruptcy Rules 1002–1, 1009–1, 2016–2, 3011–1, 3015–2, 3015–3, 4001–7, 7012–1, 9011–1, 9013–1, 9016–1, and 9070–1 effective April 1, 2025. Except for Local Bankruptcy Rule 2016-2, the amendments will be applicable to all cases pending or filed after that date.
Adjustments to the dollar amounts in certain provisions of the Bankruptcy Code will go into effect on April 1, 2025, for cases filed on or after that date. In addition, effective April 1, 2025 and for all cases filed thereafter only, the dollar amounts in Local Bankruptcy Rule 2016-2 shall increase to $6,750 (currently $5,500) and $7,750 (currently $6,500) and will be presumed reasonable under 11 U.S.C. § 329 and allowable under 11 U.S.C. § 330.
