General Order No. 2020-10, and Special Local Rules Revisions Committee Announcement

Members of the Bar of the Bankruptcy Court for the District of Columbia:

The Honorable Elizabeth L. Gunn has signed General Order 2020-10, titled General Order Holding Certain Provisions of the Local Rules of This Court in Abeyance and Enlarging and/or Expanding Certain Other Provisions of the Local Rules of This Court for Cases Assigned to the Honorable Elizabeth L. Gunn. As more thoroughly detailed in the General Order, the Court desires to enact certain modifications to the Local Rules in an effort to enhance the efficiencies of the Court. The General Order modifies the Local Rules to suspend and/or hold in abeyance the requirements found therein to file and separately docket a proposed order with a pleading as more fully set forth therein, and to modify certain requirements for form, content, and endorsement of proposed orders in matters pending before the Honorable Elizabeth L. Gunn effective November 30, 2020.

The Court welcomes feedback on the General Order, which emails can be sent to Gunn_Chambers@dcb.uscourts.gov.

Additionally, the Court is in the initial phases of a complete and extensive review and revision to the Local Rules outside of this General Order and welcomes members of the bar to submit their interest in serving upon a Special Local Rules Revision Committee. The Court intends for the committee to be comprised of individuals with diverse backgrounds and practice areas. The Court will form the committee based upon considerations of diversity, equity, and inclusion. Indications of interest will be accepted throughout the month of November to the same email address as above.
