2. FORMATION OF STANDING COMMITTEE AND SOLICITATION FOR LETTERS OF INTEREST. With the completion of the special local rules modification process, Judge Gunn is pleased to announce the formation of a Standing Bench Bar and Local Rules Committee (the “Committee”). The Committee will consist of Judge Gunn, a representative from the Clerk’s Office, a representative from the Office of the United States Trustee, the chapter 13 trustee, and six practitioners comprised of: (1) the President of the Washington, DC Walter Chandler Bankruptcy Inns of Court; (2) the Chair of the Bar Association of the District of Columbia, Bankruptcy Section; and (3) four members at large, appointed in alternating 2-year terms.

The Committee will be appointed by the Court, and will serve as a liaison among the Court, its bar, and the public. The Committee will study and recommend improvements to the operating procedures of the Court, the Local Rules, and other matters as the Court directs. The Committee will meet approximately once per quarter.

Judge Gunn will accept letters of interest through November 18, 2022 for two 2-year at large positions and two 1-year at large positions to begin in January 2023. Those selected to 1-year positions will have the opportunity to request renewal for a second, full 2-year term at the conclusion of 2023.
